Admissions

Policy

Mt. Lebanon Montessori School/Academy, Inc. admits children of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin in administration of its admission policies, educational policies, scholarships and loan programs and athletic and other school-administered programs.

A racial and ethnic mixture is considered important to the health of the school and to the full social development of the child.

Admission to programs is based on the child’s birthday in September of the year the child enters.

Application

Parents enrolling their child in the regular program should consider at least a three year commitment in order for the child to derive the full benefit of a Montessori Program.

Prior to admission both parents are encouraged to participate in an interview with the Director and Administrator. Following the interview the parents will be taken on a tour of the school. Prior to the child beginning school, the child’s teacher will do a brief home visit, in order to meet the child on his/her “home turf”. The child is then invited to visit the School for a short time in order to meet with his/her teacher again and to be shown the environment. The child has met with his teacher at least twice and has seen the room where he will work and make friends. This process increases parent and child comfort levels and facilitates a smooth transition from home life to classroom life.

We are glad that you are ready to apply for the admission of your child into our program. We would love to get in touch with you and schedule a personal meeting to discuss more in detail about your child and suitable program for him/her.
