Kindergarten Program
Children in the 3-6 Program are accepted into the Kindergarten Program through teacher recommendation. Children without previous Montessori school education are not eligible for Kindergarten.
The criteria for consideration are as follows:
- Chronological Age
- Emotional Maturity
- Academic Readiness
Classes meet for one and one half hours/three days per week in addition to regular 3-6 classes. Children attend the regular 3-6 in addition to extended hours in the kindergarten program. The program brings together all the skills learned in the previous preschool years and prepares a child socially, emotionally and academically for first grade.
It is not necessary for a child to be in the Kindergarten Program in order to go to first grade the following year.
Children may not be enrolled in the Montessori School and in a public/private kindergarten program during the same school year.
